Endodontics is the dental specialty that is concerned with the saving of a toothtraumatized by infection through shaping and filling of the nerve chambers of the tooth. This procedure is far better known as a root canal. After infection is controlled, the nerve chambers are filled and the tooth can be restored and saved for years of service to the patient.
While it is commonly believed that root canals are painful procedures, the real truth is this is not necessarily the case. Using proper technique the Dr. Dykes can complete the procedure with little discomfort to the patient.
